Eighteen Months
It's so hard to believe that Evan is a year and a half old already. Man, the time sure flies! We took him for his well visit, and the doctor was extremely pleased with his development. His "soft spot" hasn't quite "sealed up" yet, but she says it's close. She was quite amazed with how active he is...and how tall he is! He is 35 inches tall--just one inch short of 3 feet! He has really shot up in the last two weeks. It was such a fast change that Jon and I often forget that he can reach things on the table...and counter...and stove now. Thankfully there haven't been any accidents with knives or hot pots/pans, but last night he did manage to steal an open container of cool whip off the counter top. Thankfully, it didn't spill. And like the good little boy he is, he was brining it over to me to ask if he could have some. Stinker! :) He has lost about a pound since we visited my parents last month. He only weighs 29 pounds (it was over 30 the last time I checked), but as he is growing taller, he is really starting to thin out. We also found out that in addition to working on his "canine" teeth, Evan is also getting his second set of molars. (At least that explains all of the extra drooling! I can't wait for teething to be over!!) The rest of the doctor's visit consisted of her watching Evan as he pushed the kid chair all over the room. The boy thinks that everything is a vehicle these days. He's a bit obsessed! :) And then his last shot for 6 months. Evan squirmed a bit, but he didn't cry! So we took him out for a little treat after that. :) He's up to about 30 of his own little "words" now...it's hard to believe that in just a few short months, the list will be over 200! That's crazy! But each day with Evan is more exciting...and more challenging. (I wish I had half of his energy!)

WOW! 30 words! Good job, Evan!!! Isn't it funny that one day they can reach anything and then all of a sudden one day they can? Lily started being able to get things on the counter top and table. It's so funny. I'm finding that our house wasn't toddler proof one bit!
