Posts
So there are a lot of new posts to last the updates for a while...The rest of my week will be spent packing. I am Evan-less for the rest of the week (thanks, Tom and Connie!), so I need to make the most of it. I can hardly believe that we're leaving for my parents' house this Saturday already. Life is a bit of a blur right now. But things are finally starting to fall into place. We still haven't had any showings of the house yet (please pray about this with us!), but only 3 of 14 sheets are left in the box on our sign out front, so we are hopeful. Also, our only other "competition" house in the neighborhood sold on Sunday after being on the market for only about 3 weeks. So that's hopeful news for us too. And as far as the moving companies go, we have three companies coming this week to give us quotes, but one of them is a guy from our church who really wanted to move us up here from Saint Louis and has promised us the best price for moving us back down there. We meet with him tomorrow, and I think it's pretty promising. Well, enjoy all of the new posts (there are a lot! pace yourself!). I'll try to send out a quick update later this week, but that will be the end of the updates until after we're settled in the Tindall house in a week or two. :)
We could really use some prayers right now, especially for:
Thanks, everyone for all of your prayers! We certainly appreciate them!!!
We could really use some prayers right now, especially for:
- the house to sell to a good, Christian family who will be kind and generous to our wonderful neighbors that we will miss!
- that our house would sell quickly (and for a price that would help us at least come out even) so that we can find a new house in St Louis
- that God would protect our relationship with my (Lani's) family as we move in with them by next week
- that God would protect Jon's relationships with the staff at Faith (and send him wonderful friends and mentors to build him back up!)
- that God would lead us to a house where we can grow as a family and do His ministry (he knows what we need!)
- for patience and trust...lately it feels like we're playing an ultimate camp game of trust as we walk blindly as we follow God's voice (which isn't always that loud...)
- that God would protect the baby growing inside me...and help me remember to take it easy during the moving process
- that we would be able to form lasting friendships with the people/staff at Faith
- that God would bless Jon's new ministry at Faith
Thanks, everyone for all of your prayers! We certainly appreciate them!!!
China Man
When I was pregnant with Evan and while Jon and I were living in California, we visited Chinatown and I picked up this outfit for the little baby in my belly. A 2T was the smallest size they had, so Evan finally got to try on the outfit. I'm hoping I can possibly stretch it out as a Halloween costume, but given how short the sleeves are already, I'm doubtful. But it was fun to see him dressed up in the litte outfit I got him. He really liked the silky feel of the fabric. I'm really glad I don't have to fight Chinese buttons every day. :) But I still think he looks cute! :)
A Drummer Boy's Dream
Evan's dream came true last Sunday when we stayed at church to pack up Daddy's office--Dave, our church's drummer, came in for a practice and decided to let Evan have a go at the drums while they were ON! :) He was so intent on playing them that we could hardly get a smile out of him, but it was so much fun to see him play and interact with Dave. He had so much fun actually getting to hear himself play--they're electric drums, and the only time he's gotten to touch them has been when they were off. And lately, all he can think about at church is the drums, so we've been avoiding them altogether...so it was a real treat for it to be "ok" for him to play! We really feel like God has given him a gift, and we can't wait to see where God is leading him! :) (To see more pictures, visit the album here.)

Hummingbirds!
Fun in the Park
The last two Saturdays of Evan's stay in MN we spent at a park in Burnsville, where we lived a year ago before we bought our house. The park has a great playground for Evan as well as a big dog park for Moose. We really enjoyed our time there! Here are some pictures of Evan learning how much MORE he can accomplish at the playground! For more pictures, visit the album here.
(Did I mention that we made time before those two trips to the park to visit a place we'll miss a lot?...The Great Harvest Bread Company...we'll miss those free samples, those delicious raspberry white chocolate scruffins, and all of our great conversations afterwards in Caribou Coffee!!)
This boy can make a drum out of anything!
He was quite proud of himself for climbing up the first rung of this piece of the playground...
